New ideas – new partners!

Collaboration with our partners from all over Europe has given us new perspectives for the development activities. We have got new experiences and a strong believe in European co-operation.

Why international projects are so important to us?

KVPS – The Service Foundation for People with an Intellectual Disability – aims to find individual solutions and to create high-quality services to support people with support needs. We advocate full citizenship and individualised support models.

We could never do this alone – our partners are essential to us, nationally and internationally.

Over the past few years we have had several international EU-funded projects.

Through that work we have been able to:

  • develop self-directed support
  • develop deinstitutionalisation processes
  • supported decision making
  • supported transition support and inclusion among other things

Collaboration with our partners from all over Europe has given us new perspectives for the development activities, new ideas and tools for working with persons with support needs and their families. It has given us powerful tools for our lobbying activities. And also laughter, new friends, new experiences and a strong believe in European co-operation.

KVPS has been an active member of EASPD since 2007 which has made our international collaboration easier and more effective. EASPD means European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities.

The New European Disability Strategy aims to empower persons with disabilities to enjoy their full rights and to benefit from participation in society on an equal basis with other.

KVPS is committed to the UNCRPD (The UN Convention of the Right for Persons with Disabilities) and the European Disability Strategy. We believe that one way to achieve full citizenship for persons with disabilities is to learn from each other through co-creation, disseminate good and promising practices and to share the expertise of people and organisations from different countries from all over the world.

KVPS has it´s roots in families’ organisation. We have expertise in developing person-centered support and services in communities.
